Summer Internship

The Summer Institute at UHCL is a unique and innovative opportunity where international students can expand their global education through virtual training and projects with an international approach.

During the last two summers, the Covid 19 pandemic did not keep Ana, Long, Thanh, and Daryl working with the Vietnam Education Fund projects to strengthen its engagement, communication, processes, and funding strategies.

Who are they?

Ana Garcia

Ana was born and raised in Mexico City. She has worked in Human Resources for approximately seven years for several transnational companies. She is currently pursuing an M.A. in Industrial/ Organizational Psychology at the University of Houston- Clear Lake.

At the VEF, Ana is working on developing a Stakeholders Engagement Plan as well as Communication Strategy. She believes working for VEF is very gratifying because she believes education and nutrition are the most important elements for a society to evolve.

Long Lai

Long Lai is an international student from Vietnam. He is a sophomore student majoring in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Houston- Clear Lake.

At the VEF, Long utilizes his passion for user-centered design and innovative web technology to recommend and redesign the layout of the VEF website. He wants his work to communicate the company's messages to those who want to make a difference in the future of the students who face financial challenges in Vietnam.

Thanh Nguyen

Thanh was born and raised in Vietnam. His past experiences include Accounting Audit, as well as Digital Marketing, and Digital Design. Thanh is pursuing his M.S. in Finance at the University of Houston - Clear Lake.

At the VEF, Thanh is actively working on improving the company's image by redesigning its logo, which is approved to be the official branding of the Vietnam Education Fund. He assists with the future business plan, provides accounting practice, and conducts a research outreach to gain more support for the students.

Daryl Thong

Daryl is a Singaporean national. He received a Master of Arts degree in Industrial/Organization Psychology at the University of Houston - Clear Lake, Houston, TX.

Daryl is a consultant for business and human capital development. His responsibility to the VEF is to improve its internal processes and develop opportunities to inspire benefactors.
